I LOVE YOU JOE!!!! ALWAYS HAVE FROM DAY ONE. KEEP DOING WHAT UR DOING BECAUSE WILL KEEP BLESSING U.
If your on a label where an artist in your same genre owns a percentage of the label b/c the label couldnt pay him for all the royalties he should have gotten for I believe I can fly... so he makes sure that all the other R&B male acts on the label never come out anywhere near him so that he can win and be the sole focus of the label's marketing... then you have the right to be upset. That's why he didn't renew his contract with Jive and is doing better on Kedar's label because he doesn't have to deal with the politics or the insecurities from a man that cant take a little friendly competition.
As far as him mentioning Maxwell that wasn't him hating at all. He just simply stated he does good music for good music and releases good music no matter whether or not there is a hype around it. Mentioning Maxwell was just stating how some artists have a hype around them.
Artists cant say anything nowadays b/c its always going to be twisted by the millions of ppl online who will twist it.
I understand where Joe is coming from. He is always making great music for women. I guess the young generation does not appreciate Joe. They would rather listen to Lil Wayne and Drake degrade women. It's sad but true. I wish Joe the best. I buy very few albums and he is one I will purchase everytime.
I def agree w/ C-Note25. Esp where the Kellz issue is concerned. He cant totally blame others or the industry for so-called ignoring him b/c what has he done to help himself advance!? Dont just depend on these labels to promote u. U have to promote urself as well. The industry may play a part to a degree and/or his label's lack of promo. However, he is also responsible. Stop tryna pin the blame on others for ur failing career & just come to terms w/ reality. Part of the prob is u, & the large majority doesnt even find u relevant anymore. Kellz never had a reason to "hold him back", & Maxwell aint got no part in it either. He is just bitter he no longer has large appeal & his time has come & gone b4 he was ready.
Oh, c'mon, Joe is not a hater. What about what Joe said was "hating"? Joe feels like he's been ignored for a vast majority of his career and he's right; he doesn't get the proper attention and he's been consistently making good music for going on two decades. In a perfect industry, Maxwell AND Joe (as well as many other deserving people) would be getting covers, news coverage, and buzz. Sadly the industry is far from perfect and I can't blame him for being frustrated.
Aww man Joe is HATER! First he says R. Kelly was holding him back now he's hatin' on Maxwell for gettting all this attention he's been getting??? I don't care if he says 'he loves Maxwell' that comment he made proved he's just a bitter hater who can't sell records on a large scale.
