So I had the pleasure of listening to Cheri Dennis’s new album “In and Out of Love,” which I must say is appropriately titled. As you all may very well know, it’s difficult to shine when Bad Boy is doing so many exciting things with Da Band, Danity Kane and many more, but Cheri is proving that she has what it takes to do just that.

As you start the Cheri experience, you’re immediately greeted with her two successful singles “I Love You” and “Portrait of Love,” which features collaborations with Jim Jones, Gorrila Zoe and Yung Joc. She doesn’t go over the top with waning riffs and heavy ad-libs. Her very edgy, out-of the-box track “Spaced Out,” leaves your audio receptors at attention; it’s easy to see that Cheri is very confident and comfortable on this album.

As if that wasn’t enough, she does a superb job blending in melodic mid-tempo tracks with the upbeat racy bangers. With songs like “Showdown,” a sweet succession of inviting sounds, followed by the perfect segue “Oh Oh,” with flowing rhythmic arrangements, she holds firm to her theme and keeps you in anticipation, hanging on every note.

“In and Out of Love” reaches for the highest heights. It’s clear that “The Sky Is the Limit” for this incredible female vocalist. So whether you’re making a quick trip to run some errands, or you’re on your way to the club, make sure “In and Out of Love” is in rotation.
