Brandy was sued several times in 2008 for her involvement in the 2006 fatal car crash that killed Awatef Abloudihaj. Most of the suits said the R&B star failed to keep a safe distance, mixed with her inability to travel at a safe speed, caused her to rear end Abloudihaj. The "Long Distance" singer was asked to pay $50 million to the victim's parents in 2007, followed by a separate lawsuit filed by the husband of the woman killed in the crash.
