THE NEXTDIVA: Why Keri Hilson?

Keri Hilson

Keri Hilson has been writing music for acts since 2000. So far she has written music for Xzibit, Toni Braxton, Mary J. Blige, Usher, Ciara, The Pussycat Dolls, Avant, Ruben Studdard, B5, Diddy, Chingy, Letoya Luckett, Shawn Desman, Kelly Rowland, and many more.
Keri remained behind the scenes for the most part until 2004 when she was featured on Xzibit's first single, "Hey Now (Mean Muggin')," for his album Weapons of Mass Destruction. She has never looked back, after emerging earning two Grammy nominations for her debut album "In A Perfect World" in March 2009. She followed that success with her new album entitled "No Boys Allowed." Her ability to wear so many hats in the music industry as singer, songwriter, arranger and background vocalist is a testimony to how dynamic she is as a woman and artist.

Divas are complex and are made up of many layers…

"Because there's just so many LAYERS to a woman. I mean, on the exterior we often look like we have it all together - we throw on a pair of heels and some make-up, we do our hair - basically to just to cover up what's really going on on the INSIDE!"
