Fans Petition Bush to Pardon R&B Singer Ron Isley, Legend to be Jailed Next Month

Isley fans have launched a letter-writing campaign to President George W. Bush in the hopes that he will step in and use his executive power to spare Isley a three-year federal prison sentence, just as Bush did for former Dick Cheney aide I. Lewis “Scooter” Libby.
According to the fans, Isley, who was convicted of five counts of tax evasion and one count of failing to file a tax return and sentenced in Sept. 2006, should be spared prison because of his age and poor health. As part of their effort, they have solicited the help of radio host Tom Joyner of "The Tom Joyner Morning Show."

Isley's label is urging fans to contact the White House via email or telephone for a potential "executive presidential pardon." Ron Isley is scheduled to report to prison on August 7th to serve a three year sentence.
To reach the White House, call 202-456-1414 or email president@whitehouse.gov.
Isley, 64, was convicted of five counts of tax evasion and one count of willful failure to file a tax return in a statement late 2005.
Prosecutors said Isley evaded the IRS by demanding cash payments for millions of dollars in performance fees he earned between 1997 and 2002. He also put homes and a yacht in the names of his then-wife or corporations, and cashed royalty checks belonging to his late brother, O'Kelly Isley, according to the government.
EVERYBODY MAKES MISTAKES. I'M NOT EXCUSING WHAT HAS BEEN ALLEGED, BUT PEOPLE NEED TO KEEP COMMENTS TO THEMSELVES AND CLEAN UP IN THEIR OWN HOUSE. SOMEONE ONCE TOLD ME, IF YOU CAN'T SAY NOTHING NICE, THEN DARN IT DON'T SAY ANYTHING AT ALL. NOW THAT'S ALL I GOT TO SAY ABOUT THAT.

I AGRREE WITH CHARLES BROWDER. KG SOUNDS LIKE A BITTER PERSON. YOU MUST NOT KNOW WHO THE LORD IS BECAUSE YOU WOULD NOT TALK THAT WAY. THIS COUNTRY IS SO QUICK TO BUILD A PERSON UP AND TEAR THEM DOWN WHEN THEY NEED HELP. AS FAR AS I'M CONCERN RONALD ISLEY IS A MUSICAL LEGEND WHO HAS INSPIRED ME AND ALOT OF MY PEERS. WE ALL HAVE DONE SOMETHING WRONG IN OURLIVES, WHO ARE WE TO JUDGE. WHAT IF THIS WAS YOU? DO UNTO OTHERS AS YOU WOULD HAVE THEM DO UNTO YOU? THEY SAID HE SUFFERED A STOKE THEY DIDN'T SAY HE COULDN'T SING ANYMORE. HE DIDN'T KILL ANYBODY.

KGA,
Peace to you and your family, How could you write a foolish comment about anyone after looking in your own past or present shortcomings. In God's Word, sins doesn't outweigh any others sins. Ron Isley is A MAN and A HUMAN BEING according to the only one that matters in our lifetime,"THE ALMIGHTY GOD". WE SHOULD be sending PRAYER Instead of prosecuting him or anyone else. HE IS IN A SPIRITUAL WARFARE JUST LIKE WE ALL ARE INCLUDING YOU, KGA. IT IS IN GOD'S WORD! We as PEOPLE NEED TO STAY OUT OF GOD'S POWERFUL BUSINESS. A PRISON TERM DOES NOT INTELLECTUALLY HELP ANYONE. PRISONS ARE FOR DETAINING AND ISOLATING ONESELF.PLEASE KGA , THINK ABOUT IT, PROCESS IT BEFORE YOU CAST THAT STONE ON ANYONE'S CAMPAIGN.
SOMETIMES WE FORGET WHO IS THE SOURCE AND THE ONE THAT PROTECTS ALL AND GOVERNS ALL. LETS PRAY FOR ONE ANOTHER AND EVEN THE ONE'S THAT ARE DISPLEASED WITH US.
LOVE YOU WITH THE LOVE OF JESUS!!

This campaign to "pardon" Ronald Isley is ridiculous. Didn't anybody read about what this man has done? He is a despicable human being. Not only did he steal from the government and the taxpayers, he stole from his own brothers (the Isley Brothers), even his dead brother (O'Kelly Isley). He stole from his younger disabled brother (Marvin Isley). In his act as "Mr. Biggs," he plays a pimp who denigrates women. His "son" (best friend I guess) is R. Kelly, a child molestor. He has never done anything of value for the Black community but has enriched himself off the work of the younger Isley Brothers, who wrote all the music for the Isley Brothers, and then he stole from them as well. As far as being old and disabled, why is he still on the road performing? (see youtube). Please, don't we have better things to worry about? This "campaign" is a disgrace.
