Beyonce' is reportedly close to finishing her third studio album, unfortunately close was not good enough for her deadline.
According to the NY Daily News, the "Single Ladies" star has had trouble finishing up that last few tracks to be featured on her album due to other obligations.
"Beyonce is incredibly hardworking, and the album is 97 per cent to 98 per cent done" said a source close the project.
The former Destiny's Child singer was due at Sony BMG Music Wednesday to make an announcement about the record's release - which
was originally scheduled for November 18 - but insiders say they have
run into problems.
"The album is not going to be completed by November 18. But
she's got to get it out early in the fourth quarter, when there's so
much competition among artists."
The delay is believed to be
due to Beyonce's decision to star in two movies this year - 'Cadillac
Records' and 'Obsessed' - as well as the duet she has recorded with
Justin Timberlake.
An insider said: "Both Beyonce and Justin
didn't like the way the song sounded, so they insisted on doing it over
and over again until they got it 100 per cent right."
However, Rob Stringer, the chief of Sony BMG Music, still holds out hope for the album to be released later this year. He said: "Beyonce has an enormous number of very talented people doing whatever they can to make it the best record possible.
We know Beyonce will deliver a powerhouse CD! But once released, will her label continue to propely promote the CD within the duration of heavy competition(Britney, Christina, Ciara, etc..) throughout 2009?..Will Beyonce have at least 4 video singles to get her through to next summer? I bet you Jive records will promote Britney's new CD as such. I like Britney, but R&B/dance females don't always get the high dollar budgets and labels want to stop promotion in the mist of not winning against heavy competition. Good luck to Beyonce, Ciara & Michelle Williams
