Bobby Brown says New Edition did the ‘best thing’ by kicking him out of the group in this week’s issue of Jet Magazine.
Voted out in December of 1985, Bobby Brown found himself out of a contract and free to pursue his solo career. In this week’s issue of Jet Magazine the multi-platinum selling singer says “these brothers did the best thing for me that could ever possibly be done” of Ronnie Devoe, Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins and Ralphn Tresvant issuing him walking papers amidst pressure from their record label MCA and management due to the singers behavioral problems.
When it’s all said and done Brown may be right, “It was only them kicking me out the group that made me like, 'Yo, if I don't succeed, I ain't going to be [nothing] back home.” His drive to succeed after departing New Edition allowed the launch of a successful solo career in 1986 with the multi-platinum selling album “Don’t Be Cruel” followed by 1992's “Bobby.”

Bobby, I guess means that you're finally growing up admitting to the fact that you deserve to be kick out of the group.
