Mint Condition, a Minnesota quintet, returns with their ninth studio album ‘e-Life’ scheduled for release May 6th. The forthcoming album features appearances from Ali Shaheed Muhammad, Phonte from Lil Brother and Anthony Hamilton. The album is a joint venture with the group’s record label, CagedBird Records and Image Entertainment.
After a six year hiatus, the group resurfaced in 2005 as a quintet due to former member and keyboard player Keri Lewis leaving the group to produce for other artists, such as his wife, singer Toni Braxton. During the same year, they released ‘Living The Luxury Brown’ on their independent label Caged Bird Records.
According to Billboard Mint Condition members are scouting new talent for the label, including an experimental jazz combo in which they will appear.
i love everything they do. e-life is a little snare drum heavy for me but i think what's missing is the diverse songs as on the last cd. where's the songs with the rock edge? etc. if you listen to the tunes other instruments behind the mix there's a lot goin on. thumbs up. waitin on the next one.
