R&B singers’ Bobby Brown and Sisqo are among several celebrities set to compete in a new CMT series designed to give one of them a chance to break out as the next big country music star.
"Gone Country," a six-episode series premiering in January, will feature John Rich of the country duo Big & Rich guiding seven celebrities through the music industry.
Along with Brown and Sisqo, the participants include Carnie Wilson, formerly of Wilson Phillips; Dee Snider of Twisted Sister; "American Idol" finalist Diana DeGarmo; Julio Iglesias Jr.; and Maureen McCormick ("The Brady Bunch").
Production is under way. The celebrities are locked up in a Nashville mansion, where songwriters are preparing them for a career in country music. In each episode, the cast competes against one another in challenges that will test them musically and physically to adapt to a country music lifestyle both on- and offstage. After two weeks, Rich will select one winner, who will record and release a song.
First let's get this clear...do not be fooled by "thong song"...Sisqo is SUPER-TALENTED...One of the best performaners, songwriters, and singers of the last 10 years in R&B music! It was his taste of the pop world that f***ed him up!! I as a fan is still hurt by that!:(

Aw damn! First it's rumors about Sisqo and Usher on Valentine's dAy and now it's country music. After Bobyy's heart attack, I think he should sit down and rest awhile. His sales for music aren't going to increase anymore than they have already decreased due to his drug intake. One more thing, Bobby is a damn fool the most talented, female singer has had her life ruined, once she agreed to rock it out with you. Bobby u a damn fool, what can Whitney do now. Ne-Yo's writing songs for her and she can'rt even sing them. Sisqo I liked you as a singer you were one of the best singers in the 90's but now it's over we're in the 2000s, Dru Hill isn't coming back and we all know how many licks it takes till you get to center of the ....!! lol Retire for godsakes

Maureen McCormick has a lovely voice. I've heard her sing country music before. I'll be watching. This'll be an interesting show. I can't wait to hear Bobby Brown, Sisqo and Enrique Iglesias, Jr. sing country music!

Why is sisqo going country? I thought he was a hip-hop singer. It sounds strange that he's going to be a country singer. I don't know if that's even going to work out.
