Dwele Welcomes More Success as Indie Artist Over Major Label

As more and more artists celebrate "Indie is the new major," the saying holds true for Detroit's soul singer Dwele. His latest independent project 'W.ants W.orld W.omen' landed higher on the Billboard charts than all of his albums released by a major record label.

Singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Dwele is prepping for the release of his fourth studio album !

Titled "W.ants. W.orld. W.omen. (W.W.W.)," the project will be released on RT Music Group/E1 Music on June 29th, 2010. This album is the follow up to Dwele’s last album, "Sketches of a Man" which featured the popular single “I’m Cheatin’.”

Singer/songwriter/producer Dwele will release his third album, "Sketches of a Man," on June 24 via RT Music Group/Koch Records. The G-1-produced "I'm Cheatin'," about a man who loves his lady's uninhibited sexual ways, will be the first single.

R&B singer Dwele is prepping for a March 2008 release of his third album, the follow-up to 2005's "Some Kinda..."

The soul crooner (real name Andwele Gardner) tells Billboard.com he's been working on the album in Detroit, Los Angeles and Virginia. The Detroit rap group Slum Village will appear on the album, and Dwele says he's also reached out to Kanye West after appearing on "Flashing...
