Questions over just who might have removed cocaine from Whitney Houston’s Beverly Hilton hotel room, just minutes after she died, are now cleared up.
Houston confidant Raffles van Exel admitted he wiped her room clean in an interview just four days after her death.
Speaking with The Telegraph, Exel said “someone had to do it.” He went on to tell the journalist, Colette Boegman, “the room was empty” when he was done.
As reported last week, the Los Angeles Coroner’s Office revealed Houston’s exact cause of death — accidental drowning. In addition to that, the report concluded that the singer/actress had taken cocaine, in addition to other drugs, many of them prescription, just prior to her death. No trace of cocaine had been found in her room when investigators arrived.
At this point, it is unclear if police will charge van Exel with anything.
Houston died February 11 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, CA. She was 48.
