Illinois judge Charles Burns has ruled to proceed with the trial of William Balfour, the man accused of killing three of Grammy and Oscar Award winner Jennifer Hudson’s family members in 2008.
Upholding the arrest of Balfour Tuesday, calling it “proper,” Burns dismissed Balfour attorney’s claims that his arrest should have been thrown out because police “lacked probable cause”.
As previously reported, Burns ruled to begin the trial in April, following years of delays.
Hudson’s mother, brother and nephew were killed in October of 2008, allegedly because Balfour was upset Hudson’s sister, Julia, was involved with another man.
