Though known mostly as a member of the famed Dirty Money and former girl group Danity Kane, singer Dawn Richard is ready to make a name for herself as a solo artist. In doing so, the New Orleans native has been working in the studio on her debut LP ‘GoldenHeart,’ which will be the first of a trilogy of albums about “a lover fighting to protect her heart.”

In support of the project, Richard released her official first single “S.M.F.U. (Save Me From You)” about two months ago, and just premiered the visuals a few days ago. Keeping it black-and-white, director Ev Salomon keeps the clip simple enough to bring the ballad to life.

“I was going through something really, really bad and instead of me trying to keep things private, I like to give my vulnerability, make it strong, and put it out there,” Dawn Richard said. “And I feel like there’s a lot of people who pretend to be a hero, but they really are the villains in this story.”

Last month, Richard released an independent EP that was led by the track “December Sky,” which she said was inspired by lovers being separated by physical distance.

“A lot of people won’t be able to see their loved ones this Christmas,” she explained. “Whether they are serving in Iraq/Iran, in the industry, or working a 9 to 5, the truth is a lot of us aren’t able to make it home for the holidays. So this record is for them and anyone else missing their love-the sky and stars are a gift for all of us both because no matter how far apart we are, we are under the same sky.”

‘GoldenHeart’ is expected this spring.

Dawn Richard is not only an amazing singer, but she’s also a cultural trailblazer. She has made her mark on the music industry with her unique sound and innovative style, and now it looks like she’s ready to showcase even more of herself in her new video for “GoldenHeart”. She’s found success both within and outside the realm of R&B and Pop, creating her own unique sound that has earned her critical acclaim from fans around the globe.

In recent years, Dawn has released several projects on her own label, Our Dawn Entertainment. Last year saw the release of Redemption Heart – an album which explored themes such as heartache and vulnerability through lush instrumentation. The project was praised for its honest approach to storytelling, showcasing Dawn’s ability to craft impactful narratives through songwriting.

In this hauntingly beautiful video, we get to see another side of Dawn – one that is vulnerable yet resilient at the same time. Analysis Of ‘Goldenheart’ Video

The “Not Above That” video is a powerful reminder of the strength that can come from vulnerability. With an ethereal atmosphere and stunning visuals, Dawn Richard displays her inner struggles in a way that many will be able to relate to. Through this, she reflects on the importance of accepting one’s flaws without letting them define you.

The song itself features hauntingly beautiful harmonies and instrumentation which serves to further emphasize the emotions conveyed by Dawn through her lyrics. In particular, lines such as “I’m not above being broken down / I just want some healing now” showcase how even when facing difficult times, it is important to stay open-minded and ready for change. This notion is also supported by the dreamlike imagery throughout the video – suggesting that hope can still be found in even the darkest moments.

The visuals are stunning and it conveys a sense of vulnerability that I believe we can all relate to.
