Student Shot At Pretty Ricky Concert

According to reports, a British student has been admitted to hospital after being shot during a concert by US based hip hop/R&B group Pretty Ricky. Trouble broke out at the event, which took place at Loughborough University, England on Saturday night (Mar. 10), after a CS gas canister was discharged into the audience at approximately 2:45am, causing a series of fights. Gunshots were fired soon after, resulting in a 21-year-old student getting shot in the stomach. Six other people were taken to hospital for minor injuries.

A concert goer says, "There was a handful of total idiots who saw themselves as 'gangstas'. Pretty Ricky aren't really a 'guns and violence' sort of group, but that kind of crowd still turned up - and in the end they just kicked off. What I don't understand is how they managed to get a gun into the building. There are meant to be security checks."

Detective Chief Inspector Phil Taylor, of Leicestershire police, who is leading the inquiry, said it was believed a number of people left the campus before the police had a chance to speak to them.

"It is important that we ascertain the circumstances leading up to the incident," he said. "Early indications from witnesses suggest that at some point , a CS gas canister was discharged." He urged witnesses to get in touch.

A 22-year-old man has been arrested by police in connection with the incident.
