“Takers,” the new movie which stars R&B singer Chris Brown, along with Idris Elba, Hayden Christensen, Matt Dillon, Jay Hernandez, Zoe Zaldana, and Paul Walker, is deemed successful after making a splash in its box office weekend debut.
The heist thriller landed at the second spot with $21 million in opening sales after reportedly costing about $32 million to produce. Lionsgate's "The Last Exorcism" had a thin lead with a $21.3 million premiere. “Takers” could move to first place after official box office numbers come in today (8/30). Its debut is particularly impressive given that it played in 668 fewer theaters than "Last Exorcism."
Takers generated disproportionately high interest among African Americans and had strong performances in East Coast cities such as Philadelphia and Washington, D.C.; cities with large black populations.

Now imagine what would have been if Takers had started in just as many theaters as Last Exorcism. I guess a few theaters had better add Chris' movie to their list FAST...
