Rihanna to Channel 'Love The Way You Lie' For New Album Says Producer
Coming off the success of her featured Billboard Hot 100 number one hit “Love the Way You Lie,” brokered by rapper Eminem, Rihanna’s team is looking for more records within that style, according to the producer Alex da Kid.
"We worked together about a year before 'Love the Way You Lie' in London, and obviously that song has helped the people around her and her label say, 'Oh, that's a big hit, we want another one'," the producer said. "You know how the music industry is."
Alex da Kid also mentioned that Rihanna’s work for the new project is a combination of her past work with her ever-changing edginess, despite being commercial.
"I'd say it's like a mixture of her two sides. It's commercial, but at the same time it's got an edge to it - it has substance," he stated.
Besides working with Rihanna, Alex da Kid is also credited for B.o.B's "Airplanes" which features Hayley Williams and Eminem. He is also in the studio with Avril Lavigne.
