Pop/R&B star Rihanna was reportedly forced to cancel several U.S. tour dates due to poor tickets sales.
The “Rude Boy” hitmaker, who scrapped the launch show of her ‘Last Girl On Earth’ Tour with Ke$ha last week, has canceled her show at Indiana's Verizon Wireless Music Center on Aug. 3, according to ticketing websites.
Concert Promoter Live Nation also announced on Friday, July 9 that other major city dates have been canceled due to "scheduling conflicts."
"Due to a change in Rihanna's schedule, she can no longer appear in Englewood [July 15], Atlanta [July 28] and Noblesville [August 3]," the site cited before adding later that the Denver date has also been scrapped.
The cancellation follows news that U.S. concert revenues are down in 2010 following a strong 2009, with the Jonas Brothers and the stars of American Idol also scaling down their upcoming tours. Christina Aguilera, Limp Bizkit and the Go-Gos' canceled their tours as well,
and organizers of the all-female Lilith Fair organizers said last week
that they had scrapped about a third of the shows.
