Ashanti Stalker Sentenced Over Lewd Messages, Photos
Ashanti and her mother/manager Tina, may rest easier this week now that a man convicted of sending lewd text messages has been sentenced to at least two years behind bars.
According to published reports, Devar Hurd was sentenced to two years late last week.
As previously reported, the messages were sent to Ashanti's mother, some including photographs of his genitals.
While Hurd told a judge he thought a special connection existed between him and Ashanti, the judge handed back a swift sentence, disregarding Hurd's plea that he never "intended to harm anyone."
According to Associated Press reports, the hope was to send Hurd to a mental health facility but, the arrangements could not be worked out.
