'Dear John' Ends 'Avatar' Reign Atop Box Office

After seven consecutive weeks atop the Box Office, 'Avatar' has taken a fall.

According to weekend Box Office reports, the world's no.1 film fell victim to 'Dear John,' the Sony/Screen Gems picture starring Channing Tatum ("Fighting,' 'Coach Carter') and Amanda Seyfried ('Mean Girls').

Based on a book by Nicholas Sparks, the film took in a reported $32.4 million at the box office according to early estimates.

While it fell from no.1, 'Avatar' still managed a strong weekend -- raking in $23.6 million.
