"Tik Tok," the popular single from rising singer Ke$ha has ended Jay-Z and Alicia Keys' reign atop the Billboard Hot 100 !
Displacing the five consecutive week reign atop the Hot 100 with "Empire State of Mind," Ke$ha's "Tik Tok" moved 2-1 this week.
Following in the footsteps of Lady Gaga, Ke$ha's "Tik Tok" is the first debut single for a female artist to hit no.1 since "Just Dance" in January 2009.
"Tik Tok" leads Ke$ha's forthcoming album "Animal," which is due in stores January 5.
In related news, Alicia Keys' "Empire State of Mind" remix, titled "Empire" has made its debut on the Hot 100. According to Billboard, the lauded song debuts at no.55 this week.
