When American Idol winner Fantasia Barrino's forthcoming reality series makes its debut in January, family members including cousins K-Ci & JoJo will make appearances for classic and fun moments. But, according to the 'Color Purple' and Lifetime original movie ('Life Is Not a Fairytale') star, there will be a number of tough moments.
Reportedly struggling with her father, who sued the publisher of her memoir 'Life Is Not A Fairytale' for libel, Fantasia says "Me and my father, we don't have a really good relationship. That is something that's been out in the press and it's a very touchy situation for me to allow that to be seen."
While Fantasia's relationship with her father is a touchy one, unlike that of her mother who is often seen performing with her daughter (ex. Bobby Jones Gospel, BET), the "Truth Is" singer says "He's still my father at the end of the day".
As previously reported, Fantasia's forthcoming reality series titled 'Fantasia For Real" is slated to premiere on VH1 next month.
Following the mother of one, daughter, and reality star turned Broadway performer and award-winning singer, 'Fantasia For Real' is according to Fantasia, a chance to allow people to view her as she takes control of her life.
"I wanted to allow people to watch me rebuild my dynasty," says Fantasia.
"Fantasia For Real" premieres January 11 at 10pm only on VH1.

Fantasia, I have been a fan of yours since the first day you set foot on Idol; I just don't know why I liked you so much it was just a feeling. My daughters always say she loves Fantasia. I went to see you in the Color Purple and I truly enjoyed myself. I can relate to you because I raised my two daughters on my own. It was hard but I endured; they are now 35 and 27 years old. Keep your head high and do your best at whatever you put your mind to. Don't worry about what people say, they talked about God and what makes us any better than him. Stay true to yourself and your Zion. That's all that matters. Have a HAPPY NEW YEAR.
