Kelis Talks Rihanna, New Generation 'Expect Them To Copy'
When it comes to her daring style and attitude dating back to 1999's "Kaleidoscope" and comparisons to Rihanna, Cassie and other new generation female artists, Kelis says she expects them to copy...
"The only other person I would give credit before me is Pepa. Other than that, I expect them to copy me," Kelis told HoneyMag in a recent interview when asked about Rihanna and Cassie rocking half shaved heads. "What else are they supposed to do? They’re young. God bless them."
While Kelis is on track to release a new album, which likely comes with a new look, the "Acapella" singer has no plans to join the aforementioned she calls "duplicates".
"At the end of the day, everyone is just waiting for someone to do something new and if it’s generally me, then I’ll take that responsibility."
As previously reported, Kelis has signed a deal with Will.I.Am Music/Interscope, with plans to release a new album early 2010.

Kelis is beautiful,unique,and very expressive.She says exactly how she feels no matter what.No I don't feel like everyone with a mohawk copied her.Ppl are free to do as they feel.Everyone gets inspiration from sumthin.And Im sure she knows that.She's a bit cocky,but hey I still love her.She's inspired me 2 be myself and not care what others think!
I like Kelis, and I do see similiarities in her and Rihanna's image (Cassie is not even to be mentioned she is completely insignificant). The difference would be that Rihanna took that "Image" and ran with it, whilest Kelis half the time be looking a Hot Steamy Mess with her oh-so-unique style. Rihanna never looks a mess and has hit after hit. Green does not look good on you Kelis (Shame).

She also had powerhouse producers like the Neptunes and Will.I.Am produce tracks and still couldn't get to semi-major, B -list, red carpet status. We have never seen her perform on the AMA's, Grammys and other award/tribute shows, other than Saturday night live and never heard buzz or hype about her being a great live performer, again as compared to others! ALL divas mention often in interviews that divas that have come behind them have copied them in some sort of way, so that statement too, is again not as original as she claims to be! She really not that great looking either as compared to everyone else....! Lets wait and her the new album and if its not smoking, then we'll just go ahead and add Kelis to the list of growing mouthy, jealous, bitter divas who were really NOT that talented after all this time!

I think i would have to agree with her. If you all watched her videos and look at Rihanna and Cassie you will see the similarity. Rihanna isnt original and neither is Cassie.
