Ne Yo "The Princess and the Frog,' Disney's first animated tale to include an African American Princess, is firmly planted atop the box office.

Pulling in $25 million at the weekend box office, the feature is also Disney studio's first hand-drawn animated tale in five years.

"I've always believed that when you start with great storytelling, then the format aside doesn't mean anything," Chuck Viane, head of distribution for Disney said in a statement Sunday.

Featuring music from Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter Ne-Yo, 'The Princess and the Frog' (see photos from the premiere here) offers theatergoers a spin on the Brothers Grimm story "The Frog Prince," following the adventures of a young woman turned into a frog by a kiss from an amphibian.
