Willie Maxine Perry, Director Tyler Perry's mother and inspiration for popular onscreen character Madea, has died.
Perry, Director behind films including 'The Family That Preys' and 'Madea's Family Reunion,' announced her death on his website Wednesday. While the cause of death is not known, sources say Perry was 64.
Thanking fans for their prayers, Perry wrote a short message on his website Wednesday. Stating "Thank you for all your prayers," Perry also posted a photograph of his mother on the red carpet at the "Madea's Family Reunion' premiere.
