Chris Brown might have been seen apologizing for his actions in a YouTube video months back, but according to the singer he was not himself -- or allowed to be so.
"I had a week, maybe three days of PR, and they told me, 'Don't say this' and 'Don't say it this way, 'cause they're gonna take it this way,' " Brown says of his first public apology and statement.
According to the "I Can Transform Ya" singer, the words were there but he was focused not on being genuine but following instructions.
"In my head, I wasn't given a chance to really be me," Brown told Robin Roberts during a special interview aired Friday, December 4 on ABC's 20/20. "I was being myself through other people. It was genuinely from me, it just wasn't projected genuinely."
Moving forward and understanding the result of his actions that he says "scarred" Rihanna, Brown is set to release his third studio album.
Due in stores Tuesday, December 8," "Graffiti" features relatable songs like "So Cold" and "Crawl" and the hit Swizz Beatz and Lil Wayne featured "I Can Transform Ya".

PEACE OUT
CHRIS BROWN I SUPPORT YOU AND I WISH YOU ALL THE HAPPINESS IN THE WORLD!! DO YOU AND THE REST WILL FOLLOW. DON'T WORRY ABOUT THE HATERS BECAUSE THAT IS PROBABLY ALL THEY HAVE TO DO IN THIS WORLD, TRYING TO PASS JUDGMENT ON SOMEONE ELSE WHEN THEY RESIDE IN GLASS HOUSES, GRAFFITI 12/8/09
He was 19 at the time,, how is that showing us his true colors, he was a KID! He's just went from being a KID to a young man in May of this year. I don't know about you but at 19 and 20 I hadn't fully matured. People are expecting so much from a kid that had to grown up over night behind the incident. I don't condone abuse but, I'm not God and I will not stand in judgement of judging this young man. The bible said " We all have sinned and come short of the glory of God" not some of us. What we need to do is pray for him and ourselves that we all can strive to be better people. He's young and there is hope for him, he accepted his punishment and is trying to move on. I understand why he continues to give the interviews, he's not denying anything he just want people to know that he's sorry.... Maybe if we had the teaching of God in us some of us could be more forgiving to a young man that they really don't even know. I wonder what would have happened if God had not forgiven us!!
Between CB's story and Tiger Woods' crap...oh WHEN will it all end? CB has shown his true colors...he's showing us who he always has been.
