Actor/Producer/Director Tyler Perry is facing legal action over accusations that he used portions of a song written by the late Bertha James in his movie ‘Madea Goes to Jail’ without permission.
According to TMZ, representative from the gospel vocalist's estate are suing Perry, alleging he used lines in his hit 2009 film movie ‘Madea Goes to Jail’, which he took from her 1950 track “When I Think of the Goodness of Jesus.”
The gospel vocalist's estate claims the song's entire chorus is used in a monologue delivered by lead character Madea.
Representatives for James are seeking unspecified damages from Perry and Lionsgate Entertainment, the studio that distributed the comedy.

I agree the law suit is stupid.... giving 1M to NAACP is okay, but how about the UNCF? to educate some of you dumbasses. I'm not so sure the medea stereotype is all that good for the black community, but it sure gets you blacks to flock to his films for a 5 second medea cameo
tyler when the lord is blessing , the devil is messing. the devil is busy and you are not the first and want be the last whos succeful and then have others coming after you hang in there this all to shall pass.
"dollers"?!?!?!?!?!
Why would someone try to sue over the words, when I think of the goodness of Jesus, and claim those words as there words, got to be crazy. When anyone that believes GOD can testify to those words.LORD FORGIVE US FOR OUR FOOLISH WAYS.
its a shame people are sooooo money hungry. this man is doing nothing but good for the african-american community. He just gave the NAACP 1million dollers....and here comes the opportunistic people. Stay strong Tyler.
