The spotlight was on Janet Jackson and ABC Wednesday.
According to ratings released Thursday, the ABC helmed television special "In The Spotlight with Robin Roberts: Janet Jackson" was the second most watched broadcast in the 10pm timeslot.
Second only to CSI: New York, Jackson's 'In The Spotlight' special was viewed by over 6.7 million people.
Speaking with Roberts, for the first time at length, about her brother, Michael Jackson's death, growing up a 'Jackson' and her return to music and film, Janet Jackson invited cameras into her Malibu, California home this month.
At one point referring to her late brother's death and Dr. Conrad Murray, Jackson said "I think he is responsible".

Janet has never been forgotten, she is an Icon and will always hold her own in the music industry as a legend. Many times people expect entertainers to appeal to the masses 30 and 40 years into their careers. Sometimes they gain a younger audience and other times they stay neutral to their die hard fans. What's exceptional about Miss Jackson is that she inspires and morphs each time you see her. She is as stunning and beautiful as she was 20 years ago. Just watching her performance on the AMA's shows that she has earned the right to be called an Icon.
These high ratings go to show you that there is still interest in Janet; so lets hope that her choices for new songs will match that of the public's high interest on the Billboard charts and at the cash register$!...Lets also hope that Rodney Jerkin's recent and continuing bragging of her material for the new album, will live up to his hype and not sound more-like the Britney Spears-pop sounding tracks he produced for Discipline or let alone Make Me; her as of yet, uncharted 8 week-old single!..(Where's her inner James Brown, funk-n-groove side gone too???)I still look forward to her new movie, new book, especially the new tour and the forth-coming questionable songs on her new CD????..Best of luck to our Queen of Song & Dance!!!
