Rihanna After becoming one of the most discussed singles of the year, Rihanna's "Russian Roulette" would seem to be a shoe in for a record breaking debut. According to this week's Billboard Hot 100 charts however, Rihanna's "Russian Roulette" might have failed to impress music fans.

Leading the "Rehab" singer's forthcoming album "Rated R," "Russian Roulette" was deemed a wrong move or single choice by some fans last week.

Calling the single "too negative," one Singersroom community member wrote "when u r a role model, this stuff isn't acceptable!! Booo!!".

Sentiments shared by a few others, including a controversial review from fellow recording artist Tiffany Evans, another Singersroom member wrote "This is the devil's work at it's best! And rihanna is a bold soldier for satan. Glad she finally reveled herself. Don't be fooled people. We simply can not accept this type of crap!"

A video for "Russian Roulette" is set for premiere in the coming weeks.

While some are unenthusiastic when it comes to the single, there are a bevy of fans who applaud the song for its "emotion" and "realism".

The official release of the single, in terms of digital sales has not happened as of yet, which may result in a significant jump next week.

It's on the radio all the time in the Northeast, but I didn't hear it once while on vaca in Cali. Either way it's #1 on iTunes, so I hope whoever wrote this article cites in their next one that they are a dipsh*t who doesn't have a clue what they are talking about...musically-speaking, of course.

  2. StaHard says:

I disagree with Bajebobi, I'm a radio host and our phones lines have yet to request her song. No ones feeling her. By the way, lots of requests for CB, no bias.

  3. bajebobi says:

Folks, do your own research and don't believe everything you read. The single is actually doing very well on radio, it has not been released for sale on Itunes as yet. So to make the hot 100 on just airplay in the first week is excellent. I don"t think any of her previous songs made the hot 100 just on air play. CB and Britney are all higher on the hot 100 because they have both airplay and digital sales to go with. Once this song hit itunes, it will possibly be in the top 10 or even make #1 so this article is kinda misleading from a chart perspective.

  4. Dr. Dawn says:

Oh and to 'doubt it,' the song may be a bit over your head. It's not about a 'happy-go-lucky' subject matter. The metaphors are dark yes, but intentionally; the lyrics reign true and are brilliantly done. So pop in your Miley Cyrus, stick to the Disney Channel, and live in your special world of rainbows, lollipops, and sunshine, pretending that is all that exists.

  5. Dr. Dawn says:

Britney's 3 debuted at 114 after 1 week of airplay and as many have pointed out, 1) some stations are not playing the song and 2) the single is not for sale...please get your facts right (whoever wrote this article). I expect a retraction on November 12th. Ignorance kills. http://www.billboard.com/column/chartbeat/chart-beat-wednesday-britney-by-the-numbers-1004022553.story#/column/chartbeat/chart-beat-wednesday-britney-by-the-numbers-1004022553.story

I guess i have to go to youtube to hear it, because they haven't played it not one time anywhere around these parts.

  7. PN says:

I think that Rihanna's song will do well. Maybe because the song is different, dark, sparae sounding and doesn't follow the typical formulaic verse/chorus/verse/bridge/verse format and the radio stations are having a hard time placing it in a music lineup heavy on Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, Jay Sean, The Black Eyed Peas and other hits. They don't like to play two similar kinds of songs at the same time either when they're both good--they like to keep a wall between them. I like Rihanna's song and I look forward to the new album in Nov.!

  8. eduk says:

bad romance is better than russian roulette rihanna doesn't make good music like before

  9. YO MOMMA says:

I agree that song is seriously WAAAACKNESS!!! Come on, Rih. You can do so much better than that. I guess this ought to tell her that no one is buying her demonic/emo image. It's too contrived. Like that chick said. BOOOO!!!

  10. doubt it says:

Nope, the song sucks... and it probably won't go anywhere but off the charts. No one wants to hear this garbage. Are those of you who enjoy this song illiterate and deaf or you just don't mind the disgusting and disturbing metaphors?
