Mary J. Blige is among a number of honorees set to be celebrated at the fourth annual Black Girls Rock Awards.
Taking place Saturday, October 17 at New York's Times Center, Blige, along with Raven Symone', Janelle Monae, Naomi Campbell and Sonia Sanchez will be honored for their positive life changing activity and work in entertainment.
Created to honor and empower positive women of color, Black Girls Rock has, in years past, honored Erykah Badu, Pam Grier and Iman.
Kerry Washington and Bryan Michael Cox are also due to participate in the forthcoming celebration.

This is great i have never heard of this. I am proud to see and hear that we are starting to come together--May God continue to move us forward and give back to our community and hold official accountable for misappropiating funds (stealing). mary you are so refreshing all of the time. i love the drama free life that i see of you and your career and i know that you have been through a lot to get to where you are. but you keeps it real and that is very good, the majority of the artist thats out there always have a lot of unessary drama going on , and its sicking you keep on keeping on you are truly loved a respected and i love you because you are the real deal. and i love all of your music.
