Weeks before it opens in theaters, Michael Jackson's 'This Is It' is dominating the box office.
According to SONY Pictures, early sales, which began on Sunday, have resulted in hundreds of sold-out shows in North America alone.
Cities including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Houston and New York are reportedly leading the pack. But, it's not just North America. Japanese fans are buying tickets for the film at a brisk pace. In fact, sources are reporting that more than $1 million worth of tickets have been purchased since the pre-sale began.
In London, more than 30,000 tickets were purchased on the first day.
'This Is It' opens in theaters October 28.
