Posthumous Michael Jackson Single Due In October

It's official. A posthumous single titled "This Is It" from late King of Pop, Michael Jackson, will debut in October !

Just in time for the release of a film sharing the same name, the new single features both Jackson and his brothers.

According to Sony Music Entertainment, the song will be released as a single October 12, to be followed by a two-disc album.

The double album, also titled "This Is It," will be released in North America October 27 and elsewhere October 26.

Sources say the second disc will feature previously unreleased versions of Jackson's prior hits, as well as a previously unheard spoken word piece titled "Planet Earth."

'This Is It', the film, opens in theaters October 28.
