Alicia Keys will team up with Jay-Z to perform "Empire State of Mind" at Sunday's MTV Video Music Awards.
Slated to perform the song for the first time together, Keys and Jay-Z's performance follows news that both Beyonce and Lady Gaga will perform during Sunday's show.
According to Keys' producing partner Kerry "Krucial" Brothers, the "Superwoman" singer's performance will be followed by a new single.
While a release date for the single has not been revealed, the cut will be the first piece of new music to be issued from Keys' forthcoming and as-yet-untitled fourth studio album.
As previously reported, the 2009 MtV Video Music Awards will air Sunday, September 13 at 9pm.
