Mya Focuses on Discipline, Potential 'Dancing' Win

Mya looks forward to winning 'Dancing with the Stars' but admits that accomplishing that task will take hard work, discipline and a phenomenal trainer.

"If I were to win this competition, well, I would have to pat myself and my trainer on the back for being disciplined," says Mya.

As previously reported on Singersroom, Mya is the latest celebrity to sign on for the hit ABC reality dance competition 'Dancing with the Stars'.

Slated to premiere September 21, the new season features Aaron Carter, Macy Gray and Melissa Joan Hart, among others.

In related news, Mya says new music is on the way for U.S. fans, after a 2008 Japan only release.

"I�ve released a couple Japanese albums as well in the meantime, but I know my U.S. fans are waiting for music and there is a good reason for the pause which I�ll discuss later...," Mya tells Chris Yandek of CY Interview.

"Right now I have a mixed tape coming. It�s called Beauty & The Streets Vol 1 on Planet 9, Young Empire and Fontana/Universal. That�s coming out 9/29. It�s more of a hip-hop R&B album versus the R&B Pop Mya."

Since making a strong debut with Dru Hill's Sisqo on "It's All About Me" in 1998, Mya has released three studio albums in the United States, including 2003's "Moodring". Her last effort, titled "Sugar & Spice," was released in Japan in December of 2008.

mya i need to start now trying to get my body back , looking at you really let me know that i need to lay off the backed patotaes, with a quickness. i can't wait for you to dance becaues girl you can really move that body of yours and its time once again to show the world what you got, you go girl.
