Other divas like Jennifer Hudson, EnVogue, Fantasia and Monica would out perform the above ladies as well, so let them go pop contemporary this time around for I'm not really that disappointed because we already know that our R&B based divas "outsing and outdance" their pop and country rivals!

It doesn't surprise me as well. I won't be surprised if they put Barbara Streisand or Linda Rondstant as the honree for it seems like Sam said below, they are going for the more pop-mainstream contemporary viewers. I don't see Gladys or Patti even fitting in with the above ladies pop sound and Beyonce and Mary J. would blow the above list of ladies away!

Im not suprised this just seems to be a popularity contest seeing miley cyrus name in their everyone else im fine with but come on lets honor artist who paved the way artist that are influential and artist who are a big part of music like mariah, alicia, whitney, beyonce, keyshia, BRANDY, monica, we can take it way back with patti or even gladys im just saying these people should be some what in this program other than miley cyrus because if they were to judge more on her as a artist less than her being able to sell this so called music she wouldnt of been thought of if this is how the show is going to turn out the most popular over the most talented an etc than forget it!

Continued.....It appears that VH1 is going for a more pop contemporary route this time around judging by the venue and the above list of artists, so it is what it is and hopefully Miley and Kelly will finally learn on how to sing in the right key before taping begins! Black divas have alot more energy and bring more soul/emotion/heart to any televised show! The entertainment industry knows this folks! Look at all the white artists music videos as compared to our R&B divas! Theirs are million dollar productions while Black divas get theirs "stereotypically filmed" in small urban night clubs because their labels are always cheap on their promotions! This is just one of many showbiz differences even though our R&B/Black divas sell just as many records as they do!

I was going to wait for more divas to be announced before I decided to comment , but with 4 already confirmed divas, I'm not gonna wait! Like Troy said below, no confirmed R&B/Black divas! This is one of the many disparities that still go on in showbiz! Black females like Beyonce, Ciara, Alicia and Mary J. can rock the house when it comes to putting on a great show! Vets like Anita, Janet and golden divas like Gladys,Tina, Chaka, Natalie and Patti can put on a hellfire show! The music industry and most notably VH1 producers already know that Black females bring it on these types of shows, but its still hard for sistas to get booked! Continued.....
