Diddy formed the groups Day 26, Danity Kane and Da Band but, this summer the mogul will take on the task of finding and molding 'His Band'.
"I think its new and its fresh... It's something different for me," says Diddy in a recently unveiled trailer for the MTV reality jaunt (watch below).
"It's not called Making the Band. It's called Making His Band."
Slated for premiere July 27, Diddy, along with a few recognizable faces, will embark on the creation of what is being called his last album "Last Train To Paris" and the creation of a band that will perform live with the Bad Boy and Sean Jean mogul.
"I think one of the keys to success with this album is being able to do it and perform it Live! so I'm putting together a band," says Diddy.
Diddy and his team will leave no stone unturned as they scour the country for musicians and back-up singers to bring his music to life. Those who make it through the early auditions will spend several weeks proving their worth and ultimately Diddy will choose the best of the best to be in his band.
Among those joining Sean 'Diddy' Combs are noted choreographer Laurie Ann Gibson and former Danity Kane member Dawn Richard.
'Making His Band' premieres on MTV July 27 at 10pm ET/PT.

I agree with Sam. I like and support Diddy, but I think the show will be drama rather than talent for ratings and that's all that matters to the network; RATINGS. So in a way we are suporting him still so tara its not bad for Diddy or the contestants. JUST DRAMA.
These celebrities already have enough YES people around them and that's why they listen to us to really see for themselves what the general public is really thinking! Diddy is smart enough not to wait and rely 100% on his managers, label execs and publicists to tell him any and everything that people are saying when it comes to his vision!
I don't think stating the facts is hating! People always want to stick by their favorite artist's even when they, the artist, mess up or play a part of something not succeeding to its full potential! In Diddy's case, its his past groups! I will probably watch the show for the drama and Diddy's namesake, but not for the talent the cast will possess! Alot of what blogging is all about is opinions vs. facts, mixed in with some solutions! It appears that Day 26 is doing well and hopefully they will get the funding to record a third album, especially after winning BET's best group award! B5 are real-life blood brothers so they'll never really break up! Diddy is a successful business man and has more swagger than 100 Frank Sinatra's, but he is not a music industry group therapist and has said that! You can still be fan, a consumer(I am king smells great!), a supporter and critical at the same time! Continued.....
I AGREE WITH TARA!!! JUST QUIT HATING ALREADY!! HERES THE YOUTUBE VERSION AS WELL!

i'm soooo psyched for this show. everything diddy touches is gold!!
why is it that every time diddy does something everyone has to be so damn critical? let it go, this show is a good concept diddy is a smart businessman..i'm most def looking forward to the show
His show will be highly questionable this time around for Diddy! With all the hoopla over Danity Kane's breakup and Day 26's internal fighting, Diddy is at the endpoint of putting together groups or bands! Although hiring and putting together a temporary band to tour is music industry routine, the music buying public and bloggers have come to really question can any of Diddy's groups stay together! We still have yet to here from any former members of Danity Kane, Da Band, Dream or B5, who may still be signed to Badboy! Whether the ratings will be high or in my opinion low, this will not hurt Diddy, for he continues to excel in all of his other business ventures!
