Maxwell's Summers'night Set For No.1 Debut
Maxwell's first album in nearly eight years looks to be locked in for a number one debut on next week's Billboard 200 albums chart.
According preliminary figures, the "Pretty Wings" singer's album "BlackSummers'Night" will come in with anywhere from 275,000 - 325,000 copies moved in its first week!
Led by "Pretty Wings' and the current single "Bad Habits" Maxwell's Columbia distributed album could very well top 2001's "Now". Upon its release "Now" moved a record 296,000 copies, a career high for Maxwell.
As previously reported on Singersroom, Maxwell's new album is just one of three releases slated to come forth from the "Matrimony" singer in the next few years.

Hey ya'll Sam is right. When i went to my area Walmart to buy my copy of Maxwell, I saw folks buying up that Hanna Mantana too. Also, don't let the 9 songs stop you from not buying it but still support it for we need to keep RnB alive.
I think Maxwell will sell more than that! But, he faces tough competition for the No.1 spot because of Hanna Mantana 3 being released this week too, so let’s support our good R&B artists!!!
I'm glad Maxwell is Back!..............Why did we only get 9 songs that's not enough we want to hear more of your beautiful voice. BTW: I'm a new Maxwell fan he caught my attention when he did Al greens Simply Beautiful & Fortunate live for the Al green 2008 BET Awards tribute. I thought I had went straight to heaven when he started singing right then I had to find out who he was.
I'm so happy for Maxwell...his comeback definitely deserves good sales. Has anyone heard about that song On The Ocean by K'Jon...it kinda gives me that Maxwell vibe. Check out his music @ www.myspace.com/whoiskjon
