Alicia Keys, The Dream Pick Up 09 ASCAP Honors

Alicia Keys and The-Dream were among a host of entertainers who picked up awards at the 22nd Annual ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Awards in Beverly Hills.
Keys, at work on a follow up to 2007s "As I Am", received ASCAP's coveted Golden Note Award.
Joining previous Golden Note winners Sean Diddy Combs and Quincy Jones, Keys was recognized for extraordinary career achievement at the Beverly Hilton.
Producer/recording star The-Dream and his production/songwriting partner Tricky Stewart picked up Songwriter of the Year at the ASCAP Rhythm and Soul Awards. Recognized for their work on Mariah Carey's "Touch My Body" and Mary J. Blige's "Just Fine," The Dream and Stewart tied with Stargate (Ne-Yo, Jennifer Hudson).
Production/songwriting duo Stargate was recognized for work on five songs including Jennifer Hudson's "Spotlight".
Smokey Robinson, Lil Wayne, and James Fortune & FIYA were also recognized at the ceremony that featured performances from Ne-Yo, the GS Boyz, and Jeremih.
Robinson, receiving the Heritage Award, gave an acceptance speech after performances from Kelly Price and J Records artist CJ.

alkicia i see you are still getting blessings from your many good works and i am here to tell you tgat you are the best and you just stay focus and full steam straight ahead and its rare to find a beauty that has the TRIPLE THREAT PLUS SOME going on you sings, act, musician, pianist, and you knows how to present yourself and thats just wonderful your mom kept you busy as a little girl and it has paid off in a big way for you i read someplace where you turned some people down for a job when they wanted you to act or dress a certain and you did not want to do it now thats what i am talking about, do your own thing stay a lady and in the long run you will be blessed with doing it your way and the way that your mom raised you up to be and i feel that if i met you on the street you would hug me and smile that contagious smile of yours and ask me how i am doing and you do not sense that with all of the artist because a lot of them or so into themselves and could care less about other people.
alicia you looked so beautiful at the bet awards show i thought for a minute my sweetie was going to jump into the flat screen girl i am telling you that you had it going on in that hot mini and that walk of your you have got that keys swagger and its on the ball your hair, make-up, shoes you had the total look and you was the best of the best to me all the way around, and the work that you are doing on the side are just wonderful, you are helping other people and that always weights heavy on people minds, you are one of those starlet that shows compassion for others, and that will take you a long way and your mom perpared you for now,and you are the best and i can not wait for your new music.
