R&B singer/songwriter Chris Brown is reportedly thankful to all who have supported him throughout his felony assault case.
"He's very thankful to all the people who've been very supportive. This is a kid who's never been in trouble before, who wants to move past this...," says Brown's attorney Mark Geragos.
Geragos' statement follows Brown's decision to plead guilty of felony assault in exchange for an adjusted sentence that includes no jail time and the dropping of a 'making criminal threats' charge Monday.
Since February, Brown has been embattled with numerous court dates and a mirage of 'bad' press including the loss of radio airplay and endorsement deals -- all stemming from his assault on fellow entertainer Rihanna.
While there has been mixed reaction, when it comes to the verdict, attorney Mark Geragos implies that Brown will make sure "the message gets out" that domestic violence is "not acceptable".
"He has accepted responsibility and continues to do so and embraces this as an opportunity for him to get his life back on track and his career back on track."
Chris Brown is due for official sentencing August 5.

I am so sick of stars getting away with violent crimes!!! This man admits to felony assault and doesnt even get a day in prison and then to say he accepts responsiblity for his actions??? Responsibility would be sitting in jail with all the other violent offenders!!! I hope this jerks career goes to hell in a handcart!!!!
Part of me doesn't feel too sorry for her, though. She took him back! I think this is the reason he is gonna get a "slap on the wrist". If she's not worried, why should anybody else be? It happened to her.
Chris Brown is full of $h!t. I just finished watching his interview on the Tyra Bank's show. He said, " No woman should have to go through what my mom went through." Did you see the pictures of Rhianna? No woman desreves to be beaten that severely. That showed how angry, crazy, and extremely violent Chris Brown really is. He simply SNAPPED! He needs some counseling. I don't know or want to say he did it because of all of the anger he has been harbouring inside of himself because he had to live through watching his mom be abused. He needs to be sentenced to treatment and community service. As part of his community service, he needs to go places where he can visit battered women. He needs to visually see how scared they are of their perpetrators, see the physical scars, and feel the emotional pain(s). I don't think he deserves "a slap on the wrist"!!! Rhianna had to suffer physically, mentally, and emotionally. She was the butt of some horrible jokes.
I'm glad he manned up and admitted his wrongdoing. Its sad that when someone makes a mistake, the masses jump up on their high horses like their s*** don't stink. And some won't be happy until the whole world is against this young man and he's off somewhere eating out of a trash can. Let ppl act the same toward you the next time you make a bad decision. The only person who is owed any type of apology is Rihanna anyway. But anywho, he will receive his punishment and hopefully ppl will let him move on with his life. I'm waiting for his comeback, which is certain cause he got "it". I'm sure he's learned a lot from all of this. Best wishes to both of them.
You kidding me? That s*** he did is pussy. Real men have control. If I would have beat down every chick that talk s*** to me as a young dude, I would be locked the f*** up. No excuse. I don't give a f*** what she said to him, you don't go around bittin and punching chicks in the face. If you think that s***'s okay you're just as pussy! Man the f*** up turkeys!
Why was there never a discussion around anger and verbal abuse with this whole Chris Brown situation. He was VERY wrong for hitting her. Just wondering why her cursing him out and antagonizing him isn't being spoke about. A 19 or 20 year old boy is not able to process emotions and deal with being emotionally/verbally abused the same way a 30 year old man is. There should be a discussion of how women should not be verbally abusive as well.
i am very relieved to hear this information. Chris, mi hermano, i have been through this situation. i understand where he is coming from. i cnt judge Chris and f*** everybody who judged him. personally we shouldnt hit women even though they deserve it at times and women should not be hitting men as well. i dnt give a f*** what the situation is. It takes a real man to man up to what he did and accept responsibility for his actions. If he does get back w/ rihanna, them two might need some counseling. but he is good looking man so, i wish the best of luck to him and his future.
Seriously? Your on his side? He has legs people and could have walked away! Your whats wrong with society!!
im takeing chris side because females nows how to attact a male with hits when they get mad at the person not only say words to hurt him rihanna new how to get under chris skin i mean they been togother for so long .and i also feel sorry for him cause now eveything he work for is over he has to figer out how to get his fans back to were he was singing from his heart with his first albem chris you'll make it bro
I only wish Chris the best and I am so glad that he is taking responsibility for his actions.
continued.... Now he has to spend the next 5 years with the media watching him like a hawk. He wont be able to pass gas the wrong way or they will report it. I think he should have took the 180 days jail time to get it completely over with. He probably wouldnt have served the whole time anyway. People think he got off easy but according to experts his sentence will not be easy. She better hope she doesnt feel a backlash from this outcome.
I am a little upset that he accepted a plea deal but i guess its whats best for him. I think she should have been made to take the stand and answer some questions. I mean the media has made this all one sided and there are always two sides to every story. I mean they have left it at "Chris Brown pleads guilty to beating popstar Rihanna" and I know thats so one sided. I am sure that if she hadnt went crazy in the car and let her emotions get the best of her then we wouldnt be talking or reading about it now. I dont know what happened in that car that night that made him snapped but he apparently had had enough. We may never know. I dont condone domestic violence of any kind man or woman. I just feel like the awareness shouldnt have been solely focused on a man against a woman rather than on both scenerios because these young women need to know its not ok to hit as well especially when its not warranted.
