Chris Brown Now that Chris Brown's controversial felony assault case is nearly complete, domestic violence experts say attention must be placed on youth.

"This case is a chilling reminder of how dangerous domestic and dating violence can be," says The Family Violence Prevention Fund, an organization that works to end violence against women and children around the world.

News of Brown's verdict, handed down as part of a plea deal Monday, has been greeted with both acceptance and displeasure. One thing the verdict has enticed across the board, is the need for discussion and intervention related to domestic violence.

Citing teens in abusive homes and alarming statistics that include a reported two million injuries to women from intimate partners each year, the Family Violence Prevention Fund says youth, like Brown, "who grow up in violent homes need intervention."

"Violence like this occurs every day in every community, and victims need our support. In addition to getting them the help they need, we must all make a commitment to teach the next generation that violence is always wrong. Only when we do that will incidents like this become part of our past, rather than part of our everyday lives."

As a result of alarming statistics and nationwide attention placed on Brown's case, the Family Prevention Fund, like related organizations is stepping up to the plate with a fresh campaign.

In partnership with the Advertising Council, FVPF recently launched That's Not Cool, a new campaign designed to help start a conversation among teens so they will connect the dots and recognize when controlling behavior becomes abuse.

What? I have been saying this all along. Nevertheless- i do know how the criminal justice system works, she is going to do it again and she will have a double trouble, Just because she was not charged in this dosen't mean it is not on records!!! Ha hA ha.

  4. ANY WHO says:

the courts has spoken loud and clear, the message is that a man is never to put his hands on a woman in that way every case is different and no one knows who did what but the facts is what we will go on and the facts is this mr. brown injured ms rihanna, and she called for help and was taken to the hospital with visable injuries, and mr. brown has pleaded guilty as charged, and he has to follow instructions closely so as to not have his probation provoked which will lead to jail time for mr. brown, and he will have to do community services and he has to report in every three months, his probation is for the duration of 5 years.

Teens like Brown? How about teens like Rihanna and Brown? She didnt grow up in a stable environment either. She isnt wrapped too tight either. Thats what pisses me off about these organizations, they dont focus on both scenerios. Its not always man against woman. Now she started the hitting and he finished it. So is she less at fault if she lost the battle that time and its just because of her gender? They both were wrong for acting irresponsibly. If you are going to spread awareness do it right, stop putting all the blame on one party, both parties involved share the blame and she knows it thats why she didnt press charges and thats why she doesnt want that order that the judge enforced. Can you not see that? And dont come with 'thats what victims do' because Rihanna is clearly not a victim looking at her behavior since the incident. Come on people be fair
