R. Kelly will set foot in Capetown, South Africa for the first time thanks to a recently confirmed performance at this year's THISDAY Music Festival.
"I'm very excited about my first visit to Africa. I've dreamed about this for a long time and it’s finally here. It will be one of the highlights of not only my career but my life. And I can’t wait to be back in the UK to perform live for my fans there –who have been some of the best in the world," R. Kelly shared via statement Friday.
Kelly will headline the annual music festival that has featured Beyonce, Usher, Mary J Blige and Chris Brown in recent years as part of a tour of the continent. That tour, set to run through early July, will take the "I'm A Flirt" singer through Nigeria, South Africa and eventually Europe by the end of summer.
In related news, R. Kelly is expected to release his next album, tentatively titled "Untitled," this fall. That effort, when released, will become the follow up to 2007s "Double Up".

I am not happy that Robert will perform 2 cities only while the tickest were sold out in 2 munites. I'm disappointed with THISDAY Music that they have failed R Kelly's fans, we need to see him.
The booking for Sun City opened on Saturday the 13th of June and the tickets are sold out.
What is a lady to do in this situation? Can there not be another concert on The Friday or Sunday?
