Amerie Sheds Light on Why R U Video's Abstract, Out There Look

Amerie is busy gearing up for a blazing summer with the single "Why R U".

Taking time out to share the exclusive video shoot for the single, which precedes the anticipated Def Jam debut "In Love & War," Amerie calls the shoot "a lot of fun".

"We wanted to go with something abstract but not too far out there," says the former "1 Thing" and "Touch" singer.

Shot by Ray Kay, Amerie's video debuted Monday, June 8 featuring an abstract and somewhat graphic look.

Speaking on the final concept, Amerie says there were "a lot of great ideas, it's going to look really, really good."

I love this song, but I think the video could have been a little different. In all her videos she's posing and throwing her head everywhere. I just think for her big "comeback", the video should have been more powerful.
