Alicia Keys, TLC, Steve Wonder, and Queen Latifah are among a growing list of confirmed performers for South African President Nelson Mandela's 91st birthday celebration.
Hosted by France's First Lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, a July 18 concert in New York has been set to honor the accomplishments and life of the iconic South African President.
Also confirmed to appear are Aretha Franklin, Cyndi Lauper, Angelique Kidjo, Jesse McCartney, and Wyclef Jean.
Tickets for Nelson's 91st birthday are currently on sale through Ticketmaster, with proceeds from the benefit going to 46664, a non profit part of Nelson's foundation, named after his prison number of 27 years. The foundation, backed by entertainment related events, will promote community outreach campaigns that encourage participation in discussions, activities and volunteer work as well as HIV/AIDs prevention.
