Omarion in 'Control' at Young Money, Clears Timbaland Deal
Now that he has found a new home at Lil Wayne's Young Money label, former "Touch" singer Omarion says we'll notice a change in his music.
"For me as being an artist and coming up since I was 14, I would never say I had creative control," Omarion told BBC 1xtra (Ace & Vis pictured).
"I always had an influence of what they thought I should be. I felt like as an artist I wasn't able to project who I really am."
Calling Young Money a new home, Omarion admits to be comfortable now and more focused on his artistry.
"I feel comfortable enough and Wayne respected who I wanted to be as an artist,
no record company can do that, like what Wayne is doing for me."
While all is well and good with his Young Money signing, Omarion was once signed to Timbaland's Mosley group and TUG.
At this time he remains loyal to TUG (Chris Stokes, Marques Houston) but is no longer attached to Timbaland, at least in a label sense.
"I actually was," Omarion told BBC 1xtra when asked about being signed to Timbaland's Mosley Music Group.
"It didn't really work out. I still got love for Timbaland. Me and Tim are definitely going to record a record."
In related news, Omarion is busy at work on the follow up to 2006s "21". He recently tweeted via twitter, telling fans "in tha studio... sooo fokused."
