Mariah Carey Packs Records For September 'Memoirs'

Mariah Carey is packing up an arsenal of songs for the anticipated follow up to 2008s "E=MC2".
Already working with everyone from Jermaine Dupri to The-Dream, Carey's next album has been placed for a September date according to select online retailers.
Titled "Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel," the album is said to be a collection of relatable stories that Mariah says are "for everybody but in a lot of ways are very (related to the) woman empowerment movement".
Carey's 2008 effort, E=MC2 featured the hit singles "Touch My Body," "Loving You Long Time,"Bye Bye," and the Nick Cannon assisted "I Stay In Love".
Sharing the recording experience with fans, Carey took to twitter over the weekend, stating "Experimenting with my voice in the studio on this new mid temp/ballad..".
"Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel" is due to be released through Island.

The only reason why Mariah is releasing ANOTHER album from last year's 1 hit wonder is because WHITNEY is about to SMOKE her ass LIKE she used to smoke crack. OMG some of you are about lame! Mariah bought her so-called #1 singles on Billboard by buying AIRPLAY. Say what ever you want about Madonna who has had far more #1 selling singles in the USA and the entire world than Mariah Carey ..Madonna has also sold over 350 million albums globally, no other artist has more #1 global singles than Madonna. If you look at the world chart top 10 artists of all time Madonna is #3 and with the exception of Whitney at #9 is the only woman in the top 10! Only the beatles and Elvis have out charted Madonna and they had far more albums and singles released Madonna has had only 13 albums! And she holds #3 and is expected to be #1 in a few years and they have 30 or more years of sales on Madonna! Mariah is not in the top 10 Payola based fake #1 singles are just a marketing ploy based on Mariahs concert grosses its not working to well for her is it?
mimi mania all over again... I want atleast 2 no. 1 songs. a 2x platinum single a 5x platinum certification of RIAA I could ask for more...but mariah has already sold enough to let madonna die of shame coz she sold it in 19 yrs as compared to 26 yrs of drag queen struttin of hers.
Can you imagine that Mariah will have the most number one songs of all time? I am like Sam, this record has not been broken since the 1960's and it is bound to happen soon.
The woman can't be touched. She's proven time & time again, she's not to be played with! People can undermine her if they want. She's not trying to be an Elvis or Beatles. No artist of color would've stood a chance to make those marks during thier hey day like she is now, anyway.
she's only a studio singer these days.....but she manages to come out with a great cd...just dont sing live
There can be no musician today who can Rival Mariah.......... she has performed exceptionally well, after being ruled out of the music industry in 2002 her comeback was immense and yeah, alot of lessons to pick up for would be musicians, Another number single just a few month away you go mariah
@Jith below! Same goes for you as for Dot, and may I also add to below, that you all need to read several Smokey Robinson and Little Richard interviews to help further educate your comments! Mariah has never been that great of a live performer and she has said over the years that she has really never liked touring! She is though, a "visual delight" who is a great vocalist! Millions of people are not continuing to spend their money on her records just for the hell of it! Duh! She is one of those artists that you don't have to like, but receives showbusiness respect because of her high sales numbers and work ethic! R&B sales are at an all-time low and I beleive that the R&B junk you mentioned will rebound this year with new music from Maxwell, Anita, D'Angelo, EnVogue, Gladys, Mary J. & Usher; so we don't have to go overseas to find or reclaim good R&B/soul music! Again, we will see what will be said when she goes #1, with more than likely, an R&B based song on top of the Hot 100!
