Blame It On History: Jamie Foxx Sets Chart Record, Eyes GMA Concert Series

Jamie Foxx Jamie Foxx made the record books when he snapped up an Oscar a few years back. Today, Foxx can add the words 'record setting recording artist' to his resume thanks to the chart-topping single "Blame It" !

The single, his third from the 2008 effort "Intuition," set the all time record for 12 consecutive weeks at no.1 on the Urban Mainstream chart besting TLC's 1999 record of 11 weeks with "No Scrubs". This unprecedented accomplishment is coupled with "Blame It" coming in at no.1 on the Hot 100 Audience chart for a fourth week with an audience of 119.6 million. The single also maintains its Top 5 status this week landing at no.3 on the Rhythmic chart after a five week run at no.1.

In related news, Jamie Foxx is gearing up for a series of events including the 75th Anniversary of Harlem's famed Apollo Theater (June 8) and an anticipated performance on Good Morning America.

Foxx will take the stage to perform several cuts from "Intuition" on Good Morning America June 19th as part of the show's annual Summer Concert Series.

Since its release "Intuition" has been certified RIAA Platinum and recently earned Foxx three BET Award nominations (Best Male R&B Artist, Best Collaboration, and Video of the Year).
