VH1 reality star and The Inc labelhead Irv Gotti says he can no longer work with Ashanti and is infact dropping the "The Way That I Love You" singer !
"We don't really speak or talk or anything like that," says Gotti, who also has R&B singer Lloyd and chart-topping rapper Ja Rule on his roster of recording artists at The Inc.
According to Gotti, Ashanti departed from their hit making formula on her last effort "The Declaration (2008) and thus he says it is best for them to part ways.
"The chemistry of what's needed — we're in two totally different places. You're talking to somebody that took her and shaped and molded her and put her out there for the world, and it blew up. We [hold the record] for the [fastest] selling debut by a female R&B artist — 503 [thousand]. We did it! My views and philosophies and her views and philosophies are not meeting up," Gotti told MtV News Thursday.
In fact, in video below Gotti goes as far as stating "I don't think she can win. She need some guidance with that".
Prior to last year's "The Declaration" (album) Ashanti, under the direction of Gotti, scored three Platinum-plus certified albums including the over five million copy selling debut "Ashanti" in 2002. "The Declaration" since its release in June of 2008 has failed to reach Gold.
Speaking with Singersroom last year Ashanti offered "I got a chance to get outside the box (...) it was an amazing feeling of going and establishing a different repore and chemistry. Me kind of controlling everything gave me a chance to really explore and do something different."

IS THIS DUDE SERIOUS??!!! lol...i doubt ashanti will lose any sleep over this at night...she'll just roll over on top of nelly
That's what she wanted anyway. Needless to say The Declaration was her best album in case people forgot we are in a recession. And people just don't buy anymore.
In other words, Ashanti won't conform to his expectations and therefore, she's not a valuable commodity. Oddly enough, I thought The Declaration was her best album (well, it was better than Concrete Rose & Chapter 2). She could have stuck to his "formula" and it still may not have gone platinum. You have to remember that back then, there weren't as many artists to compete with. People no longer care about longevity or loyalty; it's all about what's hot and new. Give it a couple of years and even the P****cat Dolls will stop selling. Brandy's latest album failed to go platinum, but it was genius nevertheless.
What in the hell is wrong with this stupid heifa Gotti. He aint s***. He is stupid. Ashanti better get another record deal.
