Bad Boy R&B group Day26, who battled Miley Cyrus’ 'Hannah Montana' for the top spot on the Billboard 200 last week has taken a huge dive this week. The “Making the Band 4” star’s new album "Forever in a Day" slides six spots from No. 2 to 8 with 37,000 units sold, a 67% drop from last weeks 113,000 copies sold.
"Forever In A Day" is the group's sophomore effort and follows last year's self titled debut which moved 190,000 in the first week.
“Before we actually started recording we told ourselves that we’re not even going to think about a sophomore curse,” the group tells Singersroom in an exclusive interview. “We just knew we were going to be about going in and making good music. In my opinion, not to sound arrogant or conceited, I feel like we put together a great album.”
Day26 is currently on their "26 Days of Day26" tour, which will make rounds through each of the group members' hometowns, as well as major cities including New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta, and Chicago in support of "Forever In A Day."
In other chart news, rapper Rick Ross’ third effort lands him at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with "Deeper Than Rap,” shifting 158,000 in its first week. His last set, 2008's "Trilla," bowed at No. 1 with 198,000 while 2006's "Port of Miami" also did the same, but with 187,000. Elsewhere in the top 10, Jadakiss' "The Last Kiss" slips four spots to No. 10 with 30,000 sold (down 32%).

Their album isn't FIRE but it is a good album...they have songs like Perfectly Blind & Truth is a Lie that people will never be able to hear that are AMAZING songs!

Noone, I can see why your name is noone because this album is Fire. The reason for a drop in sales is probably due to all these broke people burning the CD off a family member or friend. The artist are the only ones who suffer when cheap people do things like that. I PURCHASED the CD and I think it's one of the best R&B albums out right now. This group is talented and I'm hoping for platinum status. Those who are TRUE R&B fans will definitely appreciate what Day 26 has to offer! Go Diddy! You did good my man.
No.... the album is NOT fire and thats exactly why it dropped so much. Word of mouth my friends.... Maybe next time they won't rush into putting out the album and they'll take more time than a month and a half to make it. I don't know why they're not still pushing the 1st album. THAT album is FIRE. They had about 7 potential singles to choose from. Great albums use to last an artist about 2 years. Now the best ones last probably a year. Day 26 had a great first album that probably just needed more of a push. "Day 26" hasn't even hit gold and they rushed to make a 2nd album so quick?? Now what happens in a few months when "Forever In a Day" fizzles out without having reached Gold either?? Another potentially great R&B group (the only one today) bites the dust.
Wow, that sux, cuz that album is fire! The music industry sux ri now, and its a shame smh
