Is the Pussycat Dolls the next group on the chopping block for a breakup? Ok…maybe a breakup is too drastic but we hear there might be some drama between lead Pussycat Nicole Scherzinger and bandmate Melody Thornton.
Thornton reportedly helped strengthen the rumor of a girl fight during a concert in Phoenix this weekend after pointedly calling attention to Nicole Scherzinger's "featured" status on the group's latest singles.
The Pussycat Dolls version of "Jai Ho" and "Hush Hush" have been released under the name Pussycat Dolls featuring Nicole Scherzinger instead of the usual "Pussycat Dolls."
"Thank you so much for supporting me - even if I'm not featured, you know what I'm saying?" Thornton shouted in front of a packed audience. "You can do anything you want to do. Don't give up on your dreams and don't let anyone stop you - ever!"
Scherzinger reportedly shot Thornton a nasty look after the remarks.
The group's label has kept mum on why Scherzinger has received special attention, leading some to think she may be leaving the Dolls to pursue a solo career.

they're a group, they shouldn't have things like lead singers, not only nicole should get to sing but other group members should too. Cuz when we buythe music, we can only hear nicole. its the music videos that show us the other group members
It is not right to say Melody has a better singing voice than Nicole. This one should remember, one's singing voice becomes the MOST beautiful voice if it fits the song. Melody's voice is not perfect, it is NOT right to be the lead voice for ALL the PCD songs. Ergo, Nicole's voice is the best to compare to all the dolls (including Melody).
Do me a favor? Listen to the song "BEEP" again, then you tell me if Melody's voice if to be assumed to lead sing PCD songs would come to be a better turn-out or better version compared to Nicole. (I am so certain you'll appreciate Nicole all the more)
NICOLE IS PCD & PCD is NOT PCD without Nicole. Are the songs "Don't Cha", "Beep" & "Buttons" be as popular as it is if Melody is the lead singer, the one singing every thing & DANCING at the same time? Gosh! I don't think any man would appreciate PCD if Melody is the one dancing the "Buttons" and I don't think any female fan could relate if Melody sings and dance the "Don't Cha". Man, it doesn't fit. So Melody and for the rest of the dolls, back off when it comes to that "FEATURED" thing. Nicole like the rest of you has dreams and remember, Nicole would not be 'featured' if the PCD management says "NO". So chill!
Nicole Scherzinger made PCD, she is the perfect doll.
I don't think Nicole is using the other girls to make her a star as the nekky pepple noted previously..Nicole is the lead singer of the group it is what it is. Destiny's childs lead singer was beyonce and so does other groups...don't blame the lead singer..in fact Nicole is and continues to be one of the major driving force of PCD. Melody is a strong singer and while it is good that she is confident and believes in her talent and points that other members of the group should also get the "limelight"..she could have brought that up with the group without the expense of others and saying what she said in the concert, very catty and not classy at all. What Melody has to realize is instead of fighting on stage she should build relationships with producers etc..and get herself slowly in a solo career path and not fight with people..Melody is too R and B...she should just go solo and be marketed like Rihanna or britney. PCD should stay sexy, sultry and jazzy which is what Nicole exudes
Well i think Nicole is the best doll in the group but she sould not have diffrentiasted her self from the rest of the group who i think are suffering in silence but melody should not have said what she said on stage.
melody has the better voice but nicole is most well rounded however i think the whole featuring bit is too egotistical... we all know that nicole's solo career tanked so she needs the pussycatdolls...
Melody has got a stronger voice than Nicole but Nicole is a better entertainer and sh keeps the group going...As for the credits, its not Nicole's, its the management's because they make all the decisions...I swear if they decide to go solo, Nicole will be the only successful one...Ya'al know its true or its plain hateration..
Seriously, a bunch of females working together this long together has been a miracle.
Why is this girl set on trying to go solo?? As if the first chart "spanking" wasn't enough for her solo effort. I guess she needs to get spanked again to learn she's a lame-o without her group.
Neither one of these females can actually sing. Nicole has already failed at her solo attempt in the past. What....they want her to be a 2X loser. These females are untalented as far as vocals go, and as far as dancing the 2 blonde chicks are the best dancers and the red-head that left the group.
lets not forget that Nicole did go solo or at least tried and was not a successs. She mysteriously ends up back in the group shortly after.....hmmm....
nicole is takin too much credit for everything, it's like she owns the group. Melody has a beautiful voice, she should just forget pcds and go solo.
it just like nicole owns that group,i feel she is using the other girls to make herself a star.the rest are just her dancers.melody can sing why cant she be given the lead vocal.
I think the view Nicile as the one who has the most appealing look and she has recieved a lot of magazine space because of who she dates. It's a shame that rally nowadays talent has very little to do with having a career in music.
The most critically acclaimed girl groups(and the ones who are still somewhat together), all shared lead on allot of their songs; The Pointer Sisters, En Vogue, TLC, Destiny Child's, Xscape! Danity Kane is another story just by themselves!
melody is a better singa den nicole she deserves da lead
This same sort of thing happened decades ago with the godmothers of all girl groups; The Supremes! Berry Gordy changed the names of all his groups to feature the lead singers! One of the problems is that the other members of the Supremes didn't find out from him or any other Motown executive about the name change! They found out at a show they were performing at and when the marquee was set and then again, when the announcer introduced them before the show; "Diana Ross & The Supremes" **This goes to show you how recurring themes happen over and over within girl groups! It appeared that the Dolls were headed more toward a more mature sound and look! If they were to let Melanie sing as well, they would be thought of more as a "respectable long-term talent" and less of "stripper-like girls who can just dance well!" Melanie can sing but you would never know it if she didn't do some vocal runs and riffs at their concerts!
