Day26, along with castmate Donnie Klang, used Thursday night’s season finale
of "Making the Band 4" as an opportunity to clear the air and own up
to their drama.
During this season of the Diddy produced MTV hit reality show, the group
fought amongst each other over finances and creative control of their sound,
even causing Diddy to send the band on a cruise without Qwanell Mosley.
"It didn't feel right without Que," bandmember Brian Andrews said
of the trip. Que added, "It was a wakeup call. I was lonely."
Diddy warned the boys that if they didn't keep themselves in check, they may
end up like Danity Kane, whose many conflicts led Diddy to fire two members on
last season's finale and one more last week.
So how did the reunion pan out with Danity Kane, minus Aundrea Fimbres, who
opted not to come after being fired the previous week?
"I felt like I was the oracle," Dawn Richard, now the only DK
member still signed to Bad Boy, said of her efforts to keep the group together.
"I think this was a good journey for us."
Shannon Bex, who didn't come back to the show or the group this season, said
she needed to take some time for herself and her marriage. "I was at a
crossroads," she explained.
Even though none of the ladies placed blame on each other for the split, D.
Woods says "I will say that it was something that started from the
beginning when this group was put together, and there wasn't a sound
foundation."
Aubrey O'Day, who at times was blamed for the breakup, added, "After
being kicked out [last season], I learned you have to fight to stay happy, and
that takes forgiveness of yourself."
Even Diddy himself remained mum on the breakup, saying "They were doing
their best. I don't know the reasons they broke up. I tried. I don't think us
talking about the past is going to get us anywhere."
After Diddy wished them well on their solo careers, the ladies were asked if
they'd ever consider making DK work again.
"I think if everything could work out absolutely," Aubrey said.
"I definitely feel like the season we had was wonderful," D. Woods
said. "But right now, it's a new chapter."
Shannon was on the fence about a reunion.
"I think, at this point in time, no not yet, but maybe one day we can come
back together."
Diddy left the door open, promising that there'd be no DK without the
original girls. "I think that everybody needs a time-out, but I will have
this announcement: There will never be another Danity Kane unless it's these
girls here," he said. Then he announced that he's looking for a new girl
group and starting a new show.
Wait…we forgot about Donnie, who was the show's only solo act. He addressed
the fact that he was overshadowed by the two groups. "It was frustrating,
'cause I love them, and obviously, it took up a lot of TV time, and I felt like
I missed out," he said.

I personally loved dawn! She was real the whole time. She spoke her mind. Singing is her career. Although danity kane was the original group, sometimes things have to go wrong for them to be right. However, I feel dawn is being wrongly downed by the public. Kudos to dawn for keeping her head up and moving on not giving a about what anybody thinks about her..you go gyal! Aubrey needs a job with playboy. she wish she had that photo shoot. Shannon doesn't know which way to go. I love you d. Woods!! She was my main chic aside dawn. I love those gurls!
Diddy is the reason for all his groups problems! Dwoods never wanted to be in another group anyways, for she had continued to remain as member with her own girl group, outside of DK! She just seized this opportunity! I don't know why Diddy didn't have Laurie Ann play more of a big sister role to them! Again, he's the reason!
Dawn is an oppurtunist. If she loved the band so much, then why is shie okay with a solo-deal? If she loved the band, she coulda been like "Diddy, i don't feel comfortable with doing a solo project without the other ones. I love the group so much, and I refuse to go on without them" But no...she was like "I'm sorry...but I'M A SOLO ARTIST! YAY!" Dawn is an oppurtunist who wants to blame the whole breakup on Aubrey. She said that Aubrey didn't represent the group "correctly" but she turned around and went naked for KING mag, and wrote two songs on the album called "Lights Out" and "Strip Tease"...she's a liar. I liked everyone in that group, except HER. They should have jumped her. Follow me on twitter: twitter.com/carminedavis
everyboy need to back up offm aburey she was great at the finale not giving a damn about dawn ugly ass. Dawn phony ass hell and she blew me dwood and abuerey duid rite by acting that way toward dawn like they did i luv them for that f*** wat everbody else got to say bout abuery she play here part
Here we go again. Aubrey from the beginning was all about Aubrey. You would see her in the episodes when producers and writers were in the studio and she would throw herself at them...like look at me i'm here. Dwoods disappointed me on the finale. She seemed distanced from Dawn like only giving her back to Dawn when she spoke. If she thinks Aubrey is the answer she better think again. Andrea Andrea, LETS BE REAL.....SHE CAN SING...I HOPE SHE OUTSHINES ALL OF THEM...I THINK DIDDY MADE A MISTAKE LETTING HER GO...THE INDUSTRY WILL FIND ANDREA...I AM YOUR BIGGEST FAN. Shannon you need to star in Housewifes of the music industry...Hint Hint Diddy....And last we all knew Aubrey was itching to take her clothes off...I am surprise she didnt with Diddy...But i bet she did with some of those producers.....And Aubrey you still trying to be in the spotlight. Go Somewhere!
I somewhat agree with Sam too, but I beleive more in what some are saying in that when Dwoods was telling Dawn congrads on her solo deal; and when she was getting ready to tell more, Diddy came out all of sudden, "off cue" and her answers stopped! Near the end, he announced her solo deal was a surprise, but it really wasn't because Dwoods told it, a few minutes before hand! So Sam, Dwoods did at least try to keep it real! To me, its Diddy's fault! Yeah, he did empower Aubrey as a mistake, but he is the one that can't keep any of his groups together and I wonder how many more times the fans gonna stick with him for more seasons of drama and mess over the music! Look at all these groups who are still together and touring: EnVogue, Silk, New Edition, BoysIIMen, etc...but when you look at Badboys legacy of groups, it's a short-done deal! Sam, Diddy himself acts as if he's not the rational, sound CEO he leads us to beleive! He is the center of alot of problems and not enough resolution!
Sam said it again! If you don't do shows, you don't get paid. How does Aubrey expect the other group members to sacrifice not getting paid, just to see her on Broadway! Dwoods and Aubrey need to take some ownership in the roles they played and they still didn't last night! We've heard from Dawn and Audrea, now it was their turn! I am mainly dissappointed in Dwoods because after all this time, you would have thought she would've given better answers! I see now that she is not like most sistas who are known to speak their minds for she did not keep it real! Sway gave her wrong props for that! Aubrey is another sore topic by herself! I too like Sam below, think Dwoods will have future image issues for she still cannot seem to make the right choices for her hair and her wardrobe. It is late April '09, and she thinks its still '08! How is she going to compete with Ciara, Beyonce, Rihanna, Britney, Fergie, Keisha and Mary J. on the red carpet and primarly as a solo artist?
Unresolved issues resurfaced last night on the finale with Danity Kane! You see how Dawn had to move and sit away from Aubrey during the commercial break! Diddy made a mistake by empowering Aubrey on seasons past and she is the epicenter of allot of their problems! Dawn is the only one who has explaining in detail what was going on and the public began to hate her of all people...It has yet to be seen if the members can make it solo for they face heavy competition from a bevy of divas! DWoods was my favorite, but she will have future weight issues! Aubrey will have to prove herself post-Playboy! Shannon doesn't really know what she wants! Dawn has been wrongly slammed by the public for thinking logically and speaking rationally!Duh! Aundrea was the better vocalist out of all of them, but can she hang with the Kelly C.'s and Christina's as a solo act! We, the music buying public, really need to help EnVogue now more than ever, stay on their comeback trail!
