Jesse McCartney and The-Dream were among this year's top winning songwriters at the 26th Annual ASCAP Pop Music Awards held in Hollywood Wednesday.
McCartney, along with Ryan Tedder ("Halo"), picked up the award for Song of the Year after taking part in penning Leona Lewis' hit single "Bleeding Love" however, it was production duo Stargate who took home this year's Songwriter of the Year award.
According to organizers, Stargate's Mikkel Eriksen and Tor Hermansen were awarded Songwriter of the Year due to having six of the most performed songs over the past year including: Chris Brown's "With You," Ne-Yo's "Closer" and "Miss Independent," Rihanna's "Take A Bow" and "Don't Stop The Music," and Jordin Sparks' "Tatoo".
Alicia Keys' "No One" was also named as one of the year's most performed songs, penned by Kerry "Krucial" Brothers, DJ Dirty Harry and Alicia Keys.
Terius Nash aka "The-Dream" and often production partner Christopher aka Tricky Stewart also picked up awards for their work during the ceremony held at the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel.
Jimmy Jam (Janet Jackson) was recognized for his work on Plies "Bust It Baby (Part 2)"
Fellow music icon Quincy Jones picked up an award for his work on "Good Life".
